England Chasing Six Nations Grand Slam and World-Record Streak in Dublin

England will become the first team to ever win back-to-back Grand Slams in the Six Nations if they defeat Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, while coach Eddie Jones’ men also have a world record in sight.

The Red Rose’s trouncing of Scotland in Week 4 of this year’s championship saw England draw level with New Zealand on 18 consecutive international wins—the most ever recorded by a Tier 1 national team.

England can also seal this year’s Triple Crown along with the Grand Slam if they defeat their Dublin hosts, but former mentor and 2003 World Cup-winning coach Sir Clive Woodward has warned of a ferocious challenge from the Irish:

“The Irish will have an ambush planned, they have 80 minutes to resurrect their season and I can guarantee you Eddie Jones will not consider this a successful season unless they get the job done in Dublin.”
