Even though Dustin Johnson wasn’t able to participate at the Masters, the world’s No 1 ranked player is still a favourite to win the US Open amongst sports bettors. This comes after 32-year-old Johnson had to withdraw from the event following a fall down a staircase, resulting in some back injuries. But according to his team, the injuries is not a long-term worry and Johnson plans to return to gold in May, hopefully in time for the Wells Fargo Championship.
After that, attention will no doubt turn to the US Open, where bookies are placing their money on Johnson taking the title. According to the latest odds, Johnson has an 8/1 chance of winning the championship, although he is tied with Jason Day and Rory Mcilroy. The odds of Jordan Spieth winning are 9/1, with Hideki Matsuyama at 14/1 and Henrik Stenson, Justin Rose and Masters winner Sergio Garcia at 16/1.
