French Open 2017: Updated Tennis Odds Following Andy Murray’s Madrid Exit

Andy Murray has suffered a slip in his chances of winning the 2017 French Open after Bona Coric ousted the Briton from the Madrid Open on Thursday thanks to a convincing 6-3, 6-3 victory against the tournament’s top seed.

Thursday’s third-round defeat to Coric appears to have resulted in a shift of confidence away from Murray, and the Scot fell to further odds of 7/1 (8.00) after previously being listed as low as 4/1 (5.00) to seal a maiden major title in France’s capital.

Rafael Nadal is still the clear frontrunner to increase his record tally of nine French Open titles at Roland Garros later this month, and the Spaniard has dropped to evens (2.00), less than half the odds some bookmakers had him priced at this time last month.

Murray is now third-favourite to claim the crown in the men’s singles come June 11, while Novak Djokovic—who advanced to the Madrid Open quarter-finals alongside Nadal on Thursday—is a 4/1 (5.00) second-favourite.
