Celtic have enjoyed a fitness boost ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen following news star striker Moussa Dembele has been declared ready to feature at Hampden Park.
The 20-year-old has been absent for the Hoops since injuring his hamstring last month, and although manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed his talisman is ready to return, he declined to disclose whether he would start in Glasgow.
Speaking before the final, Rodgers said: “He’s fine. He has trained all week so he is available. He would be able to start.”
Celtic have always been seen as favourites to clinch this year’s Scottish Cup, but their grip on the odds improved to a much more dominant 1/5 (1.20) from the 1/3 (1.33) odds found prior to news of Dembele’s return.
Aberdeen finished second to the Bhoys in this season’s Scottish Premiership and are clear underdogs at 3/1 (4.00), having lost to the league champions four times this term.
