Real Madrid whiz Gareth Bale has suggested he’s not ready to leave the club anytime soon after indicating he wants to win more trophies in the Spanish capital following Saturday’s UEFA Champions League triumph.
Bale came on for the final 15 minutes in hometown Cardiff as Real thumped Juventus 4-1 to clinch a third Champions League win in four seasons, not to mention becoming the first team ever to retain the crown.
Speaking after the result, Bale spoke of his happiness in Madrid and the fact he has a contract lasting until the summer of 2022:
“We are winning trophies and I am happy. I have signed a long-term contract at Madrid. My family is happy and I am happy, so yes we will continue what we are doing. It’s the reason why I came to Real Madrid – to win trophies. We’re enjoying winning them at the moment, so we’ll continue to do so.”
“Three Champions Leagues in four seasons isn’t too bad. I think we can get better. We are still quite young as a whole team and we have a great squad.”
One can hardly blame the Wales wonder for being content in his current setting, although Manchester United remain at small odds of 4/6 (1.67) to be Bale’s next employers.
