Andy Murray’s preparations for the 2017 Wimbledon Championship continue as the world No. 1 searches for full fitness ahead of his tournament getting underway on Monday.
The Scot appeared in front of the media in a practice session on Friday, and despite coach Ivan Lendl’s claim that Murray was “doing great,” there were reports of the defending men’s champion limping and grimacing in between points at times, per BBC Sport.
Murray was a 3/1 (4.00) shot to successfully defend his crown just days ago, but he’s now slightly lower in the bookmakers’ estimations and has nestled in at 5/1 (6.00), even stretching as high as 6/1 (7.00) in places.
Grass titan Roger Federer remains the men’s favourite at 2/1 (3.00) and is looking to continue a resurgent 2017 at SW19, while Rafael Nadal—himself enjoying a throwback year—is second-best at 4/1 (5.00).
