Former schoolteacher Jeff Horn has rejected claims he didn’t deserve to beat Manny Pacquiao in his hometown of Brisbane on Sunday and has said he felt like he won the WBO welterweight title showdown.
Pacquiao lost his championship following a unanimous decision to Horn at the Suncorp Stadium on Sunday, despite the fact many viewers felt it was 38-year-old veteran Pacquiao who deserved the victory.
Speaking to the press on Monday, Horn said: “There will always be a backlash where people say I got lucky, or whatever. There will always be the naysayers saying I did not win the fight, but I felt like I won the fight. A lot of Queenslanders think I won the fight and people around the world.”
Pac-Man has already begun his campaign to stage an immediate rematch against The Hornet, although the latter has also looked to make the most of his newfound spotlight after challenging Floyd Mayweather.
