The race is on for Paris Saint-Germain to complete their sensational summer swoop on Barcelona talisman Neymar after the French club were told they will need to pay the forward’s €222 million (£198 million) release clause in full if they’re to finalise a deal.
Reports linking the Brazilian with a move to the Parc des Princes have intensified in recent days, and PSG don’t look to have been deterred by Barca’s demand to have the transfer fee paid in one lump sum.
Numerous bookmakers have stopped offering odds on a Neymar move to the Camp Nou, but Ladbrokes have other markets available and are paying 5/6 (1.83) on the South American to score 30 or more league goals at PSG this season.
Punters seeking a more lucrative, long-term ploy, on the other hand, might jump on the 4/1 (5.00) odds being offered on Neymar to win the Ballon d’Or during his time at PSG, once he escapes Lionel Messi.
As for his replacement, Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho is the 11/10 (2.10) favourite to succeed Neymar, with Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann not far behind at 3/1 (4.00).
Neymar to score 20+ League goals at PSG this season – 1/3 (1.33)
Neymar to score 30+ League goals at PSG this season – 5/6 (1.83)
Neymar to win Ballon d’Or while at PSG – 4/1 (5.00)
PSG to win Ligue 1 & Champions League this season – 14/1 (15.00)
