Conor McGregor is usually the one making predictions for the outcome of his fights, but upcoming opponent Floyd Mayweather has a premonition of his own after saying their August 26 bout “won’t go the distance.”
The pair have endured a rocky relationship in the build-up to this month’s bout, but one thing they can agree on is their shared belief that the fight will not see the end of the 12th round.
Mayweather said: “He’s looking forward to ending the fight early, I’m looking forward to ending the fight early – it won’t go the distance.”
The 40-year-old is set to come out of retirement to face the UFC lightweight champion at the T-Mobile Arena in just over a fortnight’s time, where he can seal his 50th professional win and take his record to an illustrious 50-0.
McGregor started betting as a massive underdog to win but has since seen his odds fall to 7/2 (4.50) with Bet365, while the Dubliner is 25/1 (26.00) to win via decision.
