Barcelona are heavily favoured to complete the signing of Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho after he reportedly handed in a transfer request to leave the Anfield club.
The Catalan club had a second bid for the player worth £90 million rejected on Thursday before Fenway Sports Group (FSG), who own the club, released a statement declaring the player would not be sold.
According to BBC Sport, Coutinho “stated his desire to leave via email,” and although the request was swiftly denied, Barca remain major frontrunners to wrap up the Brazilian’s signature at 1/2 (1.50) with BetVictor.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are at a less-fancied 6/4 (2.50) to retain their star’s services beyond the summer transfer deadline, and they face a fight to ensure he doesn’t leave for the Camp Nou in the same that former hitman Luis Suarez did back in 2014.
