Liverpool may look forward to seeing Philippe Coutinho make his way back into their lineup after a Spanish football expert said Barcelona have given up their hopes of tempting the Anfield icon to the Camp Nou.
The Blaugrana have been fiercely linked with a big-money move for the Brazil international in recent weeks, but Sky Sports’ La Liga expert Guillem Balague wrote on Monday that their attentions have shifted elsewhere: “As Barcelona have had to give up on Coutinho, the targets are now [Jean Michael] Seri, [Ousmane] Dembele… and [Angel] di Maria.”
Barca were favourites to recruit Coutinho with Sky Bet, but the Reds have since improved their chances of retaining his services and have dropped down to 4/11 (1.36) to keep their man.
Meanwhile, Barca have slipped back to odds of 2/1 (3.00) to sign the South American by the time the transfer window slams shut on September 3rd.
