After just one round of fixtures in the 2017 Rugby Championship, New Zealand have been installed as nigh-unreachable 1/12 (1.08) frontrunners to win the competition following Saturday’s record defeat of Australia.
The first Bledisloe Cup game of this year’s series ended in the Wallabies’ embarrassment, conceding the most points of any one team in a fixture between these two sides.
Following that loss, Australia cannot even stake a claim as second-favourites and have slipped to 20/1 (21.00), twice the 10/1 (11.00) price they could be found at prior to Week 1 of the competition.
It’s therefore South Africa who come in as the most likely to challenge the All Blacks’ throne at 8/1 (9.00), while Argentina remain the also-rans and can be found at a gargantuan 250/1 (251.00).
