Bath scored twice in the final five minutes of their Week 2 meeting against Saracens to move up to third in the Aviva Premiership standings and into early title contention on Saturday.
England international Semesa Rokodoguni was the hero for the west country outfit as he went over in the 76th minute and again in injury time to mastermind a comeback 31-21 win.
Bath are third in the standings behind second-placed Newcastle Falcons and table-toppers Wasps, who defeated Worcester Warriors 24-10 at Sixways Stadium on Sunday to retain their perfect start to the new campaign.
In spite of their first defeat, however, Saracens remain the frontrunners to retain their Premiership title and are still 11/10 (2.10) favourites to win this season’s Grand Final, with Wasps 9/4 (3.25) runners-up as things stand.
Northampton Saints, meanwhile, are at massive odds of 33/1 (34.00) to lift this year’s title despite beating Leicester 24-11 at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday, although Bath are out ahead at 12/1 (13.00).
