Sky Bet Premier League Odds: Ronald Koeman Hits Back At Mourinho’s Claims Everton Targeting Top Four

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has responded to Jose Mourinho’s claims that the Toffees should be aiming for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season, calling such expectations “unrealistic.”

Manchester United boss Mourinho made the comments in his pre-match programme notes before the Red Devils ran rampant and demolished Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Referring to Mourinho’s remarks after the match—Everton’s fourth defeat in a row, not to mention the fourth successive match in which they’ve failed to score—Koeman said: “Is there anybody who sees this as realistic for Everton? Please, come on. Fans, press – we need time.”

Mourinho mentioned the Toffees’ £140 million summer spending as cause for his altered expectations for the club this season, although Koeman’s side remain at distant odds to finish among the Champions League spots and are priced at 18/1 (19.00) with Sky Bet.

United, meanwhile, are nailed on for a top-four finish and are listed at 1/8 (1.13) as they sit joint-leaders of the division, although struggling Arsenal could hold some value at 3/2 (2.50).
