Lewis Hamilton is now streaks ahead of the competition in the race for this year’s Formula 1 world championship and looks like a dead cert to win his third title after Ferrari’s hopes turned to rubble in Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix.
The Italian constructor got off to a nightmarish start when drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen were part of a collision with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen off the line before before all three were forced to retire not long after.
Hamilton never lost the lead in wet conditions and went on to win, with the Briton now 28 points clear of nearest competitor Vettel and almost a shoo-in for the world championship at 1/7 (1.14) with William Hill.
Vettel, meanwhile, has slipped to 4/1 (5.00) outsider for the No. 1 spot after coming into Sunday’s Singapore showdown as a much more favourable 7/4 (2.75) shot.
