Valentino Rossi will attempt to pull off a remarkable recovery at this weekend’s Aragon Grand Prix after it was confirmed the Italian will try to race just three weeks after suffering a double leg fracture.
The Doctor was injured in a training accident but will attempt to muster a challenge in Spain on Sunday after his team, Movistar Yamaha, announced he has travelled with intentions to ride:
“He has decided to go to Aragon in order to try to participate in the race. He will have to successfully complete a mandatory physical check by the Aragon chief medical officer to be declared fit to take part in the Grand Prix weekend.”
Despite Rossi’s return, Betway have not offered a betting market on the rider so far, meaning Marc Marquez remains the 10/11 (1.91) favourite to win, with his Spanish compatriot Maverick Vinales just under twice that price to win the Aragon Grand Prix, priced at 9/4 (3.25).
