WBO world heavyweight boxing champion Joseph Parker has said he has the ability to “bring out the weaknesses” in British WBA and IBF title-holder Anthony Joshua.
The New Zealander has been steadily building a reputation in the southern hemisphere, and BBC Sport reported Parker, 25, intends to base himself in the United Kingdom for 18 months in preparation for a potential meeting against Joshua.
Parker’s trainer referred to former Olympic gold medal winner Joshua as “the golden goose,” while Parker himself said: “I feel I have better movement. He’s got good power and is a good champion, but if I fight him I can bring out the weaknesses.”
The bookmakers clearly don’t agree with the southern hemisphere sensation, however, as Paddy Power have Parker listed as a tentative 10/1 (11.00) underdog for a potential meeting between the two, while Joshua stands as a heavily backed 1/25 (1.04) favourite.
