Anthony Crolla has said back-to-back defeats against Jorge Linares have made him a better boxer as he looks to get his world title prospects back on track against Ricky Burns on Saturday.
Crolla suffered successive points defeats against Venezuelan Linares but is set to take on Burns at the Manchester Arena this weekend and believes he can rediscover his best.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, former WBA lightweight champion Crolla said:
“I believe definitely I’m a better fighter through them fights and on Saturday night I know I’ve got to be at my very best,”
“I’m fighting a three-weight world champion, Ricky Burns, a fantastic fighter and I think our styles cannot help but gel to be a fantastic fight. I’m really excited for it. I think the fans will be the winner.”
Burns will be the first British boxer Crolla has fought in three years, and he heads into the fixture as a 4/9 (1.44) favourite, while his opponent is priced as a relatively slim 7/4 (2.75) underdog with William Hill.
