Liverpool’s Premier League title chances have been stunted after it was reported star man Sadio Mane will miss six weeks due to a hamstring injury he picked up on international duty with Senegal.
Mane featured in his national team’s 2-0 win over Cape Verde in 2018 World Cup qualifying and came off in the 89th minute.
The Reds have already had to play three domestic fixtures without their wing wizard this season following the red card he picked up for raising his boot high on Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson.
Manager Jurgen Klopp’s side were far out at 25/1 (26.00) to win the Premier League crown with Bet365, but the bookmakers now have the Merseysiders at even longer odds of 28/1 (29.00).
The Citizens are still top dogs and the chief pick to win the crown at 4/6 (1.67), although Manchester United follow not far behind at 11/4 (3.75), Liverpool’s title hopes seemingly over before they had a chance to really begin.
