Burnley manager Sean Dyche has emerged as the leading candidate to take over at Everton after ex-Toffees chief Ronald Koeman was handed his marching orders on Monday.
The Merseysiders suffered a 5-2 defeat at home to Arsenal on Sunday, and that result appeared to have provided the nail in his coffin, with the club sitting in the Premier League relegation zone and their Europa League campaign in tatters.
The Telegraph’s Jason Burt reported an approach for Burnley boss Dyche now looked likely, although convincing the target to leave Turf Moor could prove a difficult task.
He’s priced at 11/8 (2.38) with Sky Bet to take over at Everton, edging 3/1 (4.00) second-favourite Sam Allardyce, who reportedly would consider the United States national team managerial position.
Also in the conversation to replace Koeman is former Everton caretaker manager David Unsworth and ex-manager David Moyes, who is priced at 9/1 (10.00) and hasn’t managed since he left relegated Sunderland in May.
