England international Billy Vunipola has given the Red Rose hope that he’ll feature in the final two rounds of this year’s Six Nations after making a successful return from injury for Saracens on Sunday.
The No. 8 started for Sarries in their 35-27 win at Newcastle Falcons, and England coach Eddie Jones will have undoubtedly been watching with great interest as one of his returning stars impressed.
Wasps star Nathan Hughes has deputised at No. 8 for England thus far in England’s Six Nations title defence, but the return of Vunipola would undoubtedly give the reigning champions another edge in their bid for the crown.
England are currently three points clear at the top of the Six Nations table and will face third-placed Scotland in Week 4 this Saturday before ending their campaign away to Ireland in the fifth round.
Jones’ side are currently favourites to retain their title and become back-to-back champions, with Vunipola almost ready to hand the squad a welcome fitness boost.
